Abstract:

The study aimed at measuring the level of the academic self concept of the science teachers of the basic stage from their point of view in Jenin governorate.The study population consisted of (305) teachers. The study sample consisted of (192) teachers. To achieve the purpose of the study, the descriptive approach was used; a questionnaire was used to measure the level of academic self-concept.The results of the analysis showed that there was a high level of self-concept among teachers and that there were statistically significant differences due to the variable of age in the level of academic self-concept for the benefit of those aged 40 years and over. There were statistically significant differences due to the variable of academic qualification And the existence of differences of statistical significance due to the variable years of experience in the field of efficiency for the variable experience (10) years and above. There are no statistically significant differences between science teachers attributed to the gender variable in the dimensions of the concept of academic self Based on the results, it is recommended to hold training courses for science teachers in the basic stage to improve the competencies of scientific culture and improve their cultural knowledge in relation to the subjects they are studying, and to provide scientific materials that raise the level of the culture of scientific teachers and their information and provide them with ideas to provide their lessons, which leads to raise the level of the concept of academic self..,
