Happiness, Sadness and Hope for the Future in Narratives of Palestinian Refugee Children

The purpose of this study was to test happiness, sadness and hope for the future in Narratives of Palestinian refugee children. The sample consisted of (30) children aged (14-16) years; they were selected purposely from (6) Palestinian refugee camps (Balata, Askar, Ein Beit al‐ma’, Nur Shams and Jenin) in the West Bank of Palestine. Results demonstrated that things make children feel happy are freedom from occupation and peace, play with other children, summer and winter camps and rewards they usually receive from their parents and teachers. Results also showed that things make children feel sad are Occupation, inappropriate schools, narrow spaces and houses, loosing and traumatic experiences. Results also indicated that the hope for future in Palestinian refugee children including continuing their education, live in freedom and peace, return to their homeland and to get married and have a family.
