Biography

Alaa is a Private Law lecturer at ANU, currently teaching courses in Civil Law. During her MA studies at Arab-American University, she specialized in Arbitration. Before she began her teaching career at ANU, Alaa worked as a lawyer in Jenin. When she is not teaching or working on her PhD thesis, Alaa continues to improve her pedagogy, seeking to enhance her teaching methods that will contribute to her already impressive teaching skill-set. Alaa has lived and traveled in Italy, and as a fluent Italian speaker, she has participated in a number of cross-cultural activities between Palestine and Italy. In the future, building on this experience, Alaa would like to facilitate legal academic exchange programs between universities in the two afore-mentioned countries that would advance mutual understanding through a number of activities pertinent to law and legal studies, including academic conferences, publication of scholarly contributions, and lectures.
