Dr. Qamhieh is a recognized expert in planning and architecture in Palestine. He is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Programs and in the Department of Architectural Engineering of An-Najah National University. He is specialized in urban regeneration, development and planning. He has more than thirty years of experience. He has served as the City Engineer in Nablus Municipality, one of the largest municipalities in the Palestinian territories, and served as the engineer in charge of engineering studies for about eight years. He has been in the committee for reviewing the licensing and granting building permits. He also designed and supervised the construction of many public and private buildings. He got Ph.D. in Urban and Architectural Conservation from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, University of Glasgow, in the U.K. He has versatile experience in urban design, regeneration and planning, consultancy, and research. He has excellent managerial capabilities; he also administrated the Department of Architectural Engineering for many years. As being a lecturer in the master program in "Urban and Regional Planning" and "Architecural Engineering" program at An-Najah University, Nablus, Palestine he supervised several master theses related to various topics in urban regeneration and planning with emphasis on the Palestinian situation.
