Course Description

This course provides an overview of the develoment &  the integration of Knowledge in the biological, behavioral, psychological and social sciences that are relevant to health and illness.

The Focus is on the basic theoretical and major practical aspects and  complexities of health practioners performance with others concerning their healtth issues.The course will highlight ways in which the specialist-patient relationship is at the core of medical care and is significantly impacted by the cultural background,history,and current status of the patient and the self-awareness,atitude, & the professionality of the physician. The course explores number of social psychological dynamics to medical behavioral issues  as it tackles number of  topics such as the holistic model, human development,addictions,quality life management,stress & work,chronic diseases,& eating,sleeping & sex.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course students will have to practice and  to;

  • Knowledge of, and a positive attitude toward the practice of the biopsychoscial model of patient Care , including understanding the effects of family system and social –cultural influences upon illness and health
  • Therapist – Patient relationship and us impact on quality health outcones.
  • Knowledge of human psychoscial development throughout the lifespan and the ways in which developmental stages can be used to understand the needs of patient whether in childhood, adolescence , adulthood , elderly.
  • Knowledge about the connection between Social-Psychology aspects and chroinc diseaess
  • Knowledge about the quality life management.
  • Knowledge about the non-medical aspects of addiction( Legal addictions + Car Accidents).
  • Knowledge about stress and work.
  • Knowledge about Social-Emotional aspects of cardiovascular diseas.
  • Knowledge about Social-Emotional aspects of eating, sleeping and sex.
