The overview of the field of clinical psychology, focusing on the profession, science, and practice.
The major topics sampled will be an introduction to the field, including education and training historical background diagnosis and abnormal behavior interviewing assessment psychotherapy research methods ethics current issues, and special topics. Evidence-based treatment modalities, and legal implications of caring for mentally ill patients.
General objectives

1. Identify the similarities and differences between different mental health professions in terms of philosophy, amount and content of training, typical duties, typical pay, and licensure requirements.
2. Identify, describe, and understand how research is used to address important issues in diagnosing mental disorders.
3. Identify, describe, and understand how research is used to address important issues in clinical assessment and the use of clinical judgment to make decisions about diagnosis and treatment.
4. Identify and describe different schools of thought in conceptualizing and treating psychological problems.
5. Describe the impetus for and current status of the movement for setting standards for psychotherapeutic treatment.
6. Describe and state your opinion about important professional and ethical issues in clinical psychology.
7. Practicing the knowledge about assessment, intervention through reporting, presentation, and role-play techniques.
8. Identify and describe the scientist-practitioner, professional, scholar-clinician, and clinical scientist training models in clinical psychology and describe how they are operationalized in training programs.

Define the basic concepts of clinical psychology and ethical issues    
Providing care for individuals with psychological disorders.    
Communicate with colleagues by proper ways of communication such as using active listening techniques. By using assessment techniques    
Identify relevant research findings related to clinical psychology.    
Demonstrate ability to carry out a minor research-based project    
Communicate with other colleagues and work effectively in groups    
Describe the role of the clinical psychologist as a member of the mental health care team.    
Demonstrate the ability to apply the clinical part of psychotherapy
