This course aims to provide the student with the definitions of education and its relationship to development and the essence of development, its theories and characteristics, and its problems in the Arab world, in addition to the impact of education on development and the importance of the human element in it, as well as reviewing the obstacles to development and the challenges it faces, in addition to the impact of backwardness, politics, economics, absence of the issue and slackness Administrative corruption, fragmentation, ignorance, backwardness, and poverty in development. The course focuses on the role of knowledge and self-learning in development in addition to the obstacles facing education and development in Palestine and the Arab world in light of globalization.
Objectives of the course
Familiarizing students with
1- Education, its necessity, importance, methods and means in bringing about development in its various dimensions.
2-The meaning of development, its divisions, its components and its link to education.
3-The concept of economic, social, political and cultural growth and the theories explaining it and its relevance to educational science
4-The meaning of community backwardness and its effects, and the role of the educational process in treating it.
5-The essence of human resources, methods of development, labor market and income.
6-The challenges of change in societies and educational methods to address them
Intending Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have been expected to
Analyze the modern ancient educational philosophies and writings of philosophers to arrive at their educational principles
Analyze the relationship between education and development
Recognize the role of different educational and social institutions
Classify the development patterns in terms of similarities and differences between them
Criticize the aspects of Arab development plans
Discuss the contribution of the role of education to development
