Course Description

This is the second course in a training the prospective English as a foreign language teachers.  The course introduces the students to issues related to active teaching and learning strategies.  It tries to establish a framework for English language Teaching. The students are going to be introduced and actively involved in developing plans for effective strategiesin teaching and learning English Language

Course Objectives

Cont of the Course:

 The course is going to focus on the foolowing topics:  Active learning strategies, dopting critical thinking in teaching, conducting action research. Reviewing techniques and methods of teaching English. Teaching language skills including listening , speaking , reading and writing ,.It also focuses on the importance of teaching pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. Lesson planning is an area that is going to be stressed.

 

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences
  1. Demonstrate understanding of issues, approaches and techniques pertinent to teaching and learning of English language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing).
  2. Show understanding of the different activities involved in the learning and teaching of the three skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing).
  3. Show awareness of research finding related to teaching and learning of the language skills.
  4. Demonstrate basic competence in planning and implementing learning activities aiming at developing learners' language skills.
