This is the second course in a training the prospective English as a foreign language teachers. The course introduces the students to issues related to active teaching and learning strategies. It tries to establish a framework for English language Teaching. The students are going to be introduced and actively involved in developing plans for effective strategiesin teaching and learning English Language
Cont of the Course:
The course is going to focus on the foolowing topics: Active learning strategies, dopting critical thinking in teaching, conducting action research. Reviewing techniques and methods of teaching English. Teaching language skills including listening , speaking , reading and writing ,.It also focuses on the importance of teaching pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. Lesson planning is an area that is going to be stressed.
- Demonstrate understanding of issues, approaches and techniques pertinent to teaching and learning of English language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing).
- Show understanding of the different activities involved in the learning and teaching of the three skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing).
- Show awareness of research finding related to teaching and learning of the language skills.
- Demonstrate basic competence in planning and implementing learning activities aiming at developing learners' language skills.
