Course Description

Laboratory of this course include several experiment, which includes antigen, animal bleeding and immunization, agglutination test, double diffusion, double diffusion staining, immunoelectrophoresis, autoimmune disorders- Rheumatoid factor, vaccine preparation, rocket electrophoresis, cellulose acetate electrophoresis, ELISA and IFA.

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences

At end of the course the student must have basic knowledge of:

  1. Animal bleeding and immunization.
  2. Detection of antigen-antibodies reactions by agglutination test, double diffusion and immunoelectrophoresis.
  3. Diagnosis of autoimmune disorders such as Rheumatoid factor.
  4. Vaccine types and preparation.
  5. Detection of certain proteins.
  6. Detection of specific subtypes of antibodies by ELISA and IFA.
