A university required course that aims at offering students academic skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening . In addition, vocabulary items are introduced to prepare students for academic texts that they are likely to encounter throughout their academic journey.

In this course students are given the opportunity to develop their English Langage Skills by participating in different carefully -designed tasks including reading for finding main ideas, details, guessing unfamiliar words and writing different  types of sentences.

The ILOs of the course are:

1.identify the main ideas of texts

2.scan for details

3.guess meaning of unfamiliar words

4.identify topic sentence, spporting details, concluding sentence

5.write a well-strctred paragraph
