Course Description

This course is designed to teach different scientific and veterinary subjects chosen by the course coordinator after presented and approved by the board memebers of the department of veterinary medicine in which these subjects should not include the compulsory courses.

Course Objectives

The course aims to introduce the students to the technological progress in veterinary medicine and the mechanism of using and applying these techniques in practical life after graduation

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences

At the end of the course, each student should be able to:

  1. Design and prepare a scientific presentation, and able to present a scientific data  
  2. Identify the biotechnology and its application to veterinary medicine.
  3. Be familiar with molecular biology.
  4. Identify growth promoters and how they used in veterinary medicine.
  5. Recognize the applications of genetic engineering in veterinary medicine.
  6. Identify the application of immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization in veterinary medicine.
