This course covers the macroscopic structure, morphology and location of various organs and tissues in the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous system, eye and hoof of the horse compared with those of other domestic animals.
This course will aims to improve the knowledge of comparative visceral anatomy for most domestic animals as well as topographic anatomy of the organs.
By the end of the course, each student should be able to:
a. Identify the bones anatomy, and to identify joints and ligaments of different parts of the skeletal system 25%
b. Understand the functional anatomy and topography of the muscles 25%
c. Identify vascular system in mammals and to locate the major blood vessels of: bovine, equine, feline and canine 10%
d. Know and recognize the major components of the nervous and endocrine and lymphatic systems in animals, and to identify its divisions and importance in anesthesia 10%
e. The oral presentation includes (Language, eye contact, gesture, confidence, research findings elaborations...15%f. Level of students’ input in relevance to new knowledge, contemporary issues, or to appropriate learning strategies. 15%
