This course is designed to teach the students the differences between alternative medicine and traditional conventional medicine, it is designed to give many examples on alternative medicine; their history; origin; safety; adverse effects; uses and to compare them with what is used usually. Students will learn more about alternative medicine that they use every day and will learn about fascinating new approaches of alternative medicine.
Course Objectives: By the end if this course students will be able to:
Homeopathy, Traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese herbal medicine, Palestinian herbal medicine, cupping, fasting, reflexology, treatment using honey and others.
4. To be able to give examples on traditional medicines that we use everyday.

a.1. To list alternative approaches used for treatments or prevention different diseases in all human body systems
(GIT, CNS, CVS, and others)
a.2. To describe clinical efficacy and pharmacological effects for these alternative medicines.
a.3. To explain the side effects, contraindications and toxicity for each alternative medicines.

b.1. To demonstrate the role of using alternative medicines in therapeutics
b.2. To analyze the advantages and disadvantages for each method of alternative medicines.
b.3. To compare, the therapeutic and non therapeutic uses for each alternative medicines.
b.4. To measure the therapeutic activities for these alternative medicines depending on research worldwide.

c.1. To design the methods of evaluation and control of alternative medicines.
c.2. To employ methods used to identify the forgery in alternative medicines..
C.3. To be able to undo some side effects from using alternative medicine.
C4. To solve problems in case of toxicity from alternative medicine.
