Brief Biography of Wael Mustafa

Born and raised in  Deir-Ballout, near Nablus, Palestine in 1965. Made undergraduate studies in Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan and received B.S. in computer science in 1987. Completed M.S. program in computer science at the University of North Texas in 1990. Received PhD in computer science from the university of Houston, Texas, in 1994. Thesis was about developing algorithms to optimize rule-based programs used in expert systems. Appointed a faculty member at An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine in 1994. Duties included teaching courses in various areas of computer science mainly at the undergraduate level. Additionally, served many years in administrative positions including head of computer science department and dean of IT faculty. Research interests include artificial intelligence and program optimization.
