Newly appointed as the Vice Dean, Dr. Anwar has been teaching criminal law courses at An-Najah University since 2013. He also works as a lawyer and is the Director of the legal and training center that provides consultancy services, legal research for students and trainee lawyers, and training courses about FIDIC construction contracts. He is currently researching criminal statutes of limitations in Palestine and is collaborating with his colleagues at Al al-Bayt University in Jordan on a book that explores the subject of crime against persons. This book builds on his personal experience teaching and researching about criminal law. Studying in France allowed Dr. Anwar to grow personally and academically and, as he became fluent in French, he discovered new humanistic perspectives in law that expanded his knowledge about legislative measures that protect individuals against all forms of physical or mental violence. His love of teaching led him to work as a lecturer at Birzeit University, Al Quds Open University and Bethlehem University. Academic discourse that takes place in the classroom, Dr. Anwar believes, is a fertile ground that continues to inspire his scholarly work because he learns as much from his students as they learn from him. Dr. Anwar wishes to continue focusing on his research that will contribute to a larger scholarship in the field of criminal law.
