In recent years, due to their good availability and consequent price reduction, the use of CNTs, in particular multi walled CNTs (MWCNTs), has increased. It is well know that adding few percentages of these carbon fillers, the performance of hosting material in terms of mechanical, thermal and electrical properties are enhanced. In particular, the percentage of material is a way to tune the NCs properties. Presently, the effects of nanocomposites (NCs) have been investigated in a wide range of applications from electronics to automotive and aerospace fields (sensors, antennas, electromagnetic shielding and radar absorber materials).

In this work, the electrical properties of NCs based on epoxy resin and commercial MWCNTs are analyzed. Several MWCNTs, different in diameters and length, are considered as filler in different percentage. The structural characteristics of the MWCNTs are analyzed by means of Raman spectroscopy. The NCs production procedure is discuss in details. A morphological characterization of NCs is done by means of field-emission scanning microscopy (FESEM) in order to evaluate if the dispersion of the filler was uniform or not. NCs were characterized a two point probe (TPP) method obtaining respective I-V curve. The complex permittivity was determined by using a parallel plate capacitor and an impedenzimeter up to 13MHz. The correlation between the dielectric constant and the conductivity and the geometrical parameters of MWCNTs will be investigated.
