Several representative 1,5-dienes were synthesized, with a high degree of regioselectivity, by a series of nitrone cycloadditions and subsequent deamination of the adducts.
Amines of the type 
, readily available by the utilization of nitrone cycloaddition chemistry, were deazetized via the corresponding diazenes to afford 1,5-dienes with a high degree of stereochemical control.
