The Relationship between Positive Thinking and Mindfulness among Students of Educational Faculties in Palestinian Universities

Objectives: The study aimed to identify the level of positive thinking and mindfulness among students of educational faculties in Palestinian universities, the relationship between them, and the differences between them according to gender variable. Methods: A descriptive -analytic approach was used; the sample consisted of (1000) students, representing approximately (16%) of the study population. To collect data, two scales were used, the first one Abdelhamead (2016)'s scale to measure positive thinking (37) items, and the other one Almaree (2019) scale to measure mindfulness (28) items. Results: The results of the study revealed that the level for both of positive thinking and mindfulness among students were high, with a relative weight of response for them, respectively: (77%) and (76.4%). In addition, a positive relationship between positive thinking and mindfulness found where (R2=0.81), and there are no significant differences in positive thinking and mindfulness among students due to the gender variable. Conclusions: The study was concluded with the need to include positive thinking and mindfulness skills within the teaching of academic courses.
