The course covers the definition of polymers and copolymers, their classifications and properties, polymerization reactions, molecular weight calculations and processing methods of polymers. In addition, the course introduces the students to petroleum and its fractional components and their different uses as well as refining processes including distillation, catalytic cracking, catalytic hydro-cracking and catalytic reforming of gasoline.
