Course Description

Students perform teh following experiments:

  1. Oscillation of a magnetic bar in a magnetic field
  2. Thermoelectricity and thermocouple
  3. Helmholtz coils
  4. Charge to mass ratio of the electron
  5. Current balance
  6. Geiger Muller tube and beta ray absorption
  7. Prism spectrometer
  8. Diffraction grating
  9. Newton’s rings
  10. Speed of light
  11. Focal length
  12. Doppler effect
Course Objectives

This is a first specialized laboratory work for physics students. Each lab. session, students are asked to perform an experiment where the theoretical background was introduced in previous courses. After each session, students handle a detailed report of their work and one group presents the work of the previous experiment.
