Course Description

Motion in one and more dimensions, Laws of motion with
application of Newton’s laws, vector quantities,work and mechanical energy, Linear momentum and
collisions, Rotational dynamics and Equilibrium.

Course Objectives

i. To develop critical thinking and analytical problem- solving skills.
ii. To obtain a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts in physics.
iii. To learn how to apply these concepts qualitatively as well as quantitatively.
iv. To gain an appreciation of how important a role physics plays in your daily life.

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences

Develope the concept of Newtanian mechanics.

Understand the dynamics of non-relativistic mechanical system.

apply the classical equations of motion at constant acceleration for linear and rotational motion.

determine and evaluate the energy carried by a non-relativistic system
