This course is designed to prepare the student to take appropriate action in providing emergency first aid care to others until professional emergency responders arrive.
This course is designed to introduce both life threatening and non-life threatening medical scenarios and to instruct the student how to recognize and respond appropriately to each given situation. Also to familiarize students with first aid which is the initial assistance or treatment given to a person who is injured or suddenly becomes ill. The course will include adult one-man CPR, use of an AED, rescue breathing and obstructed airway skills.
At the end of this course students should be able to;
1. To demonstrate how to perform an initial assessment on a patient.
2. Assess vitals for a patient.
3. Perform Heimlich maneuver.
4. Perform CPR
5. Use first aid devices appropriately.
6. Able to provide first aid.
