Course Description

This course introduces the use of physical methods in the study of biological systems, including membranes, nerves, muscle, cardiovascular, visual, auditory systems, besides the study of selected biological phenomena using physical principles as blood pressure, stenosis and eye vision defects. The biological systems to which the methods are applied will be surveyed, and current interpretations of their structure and function will be discussed with appropriate mathematics when necessary. Also, this course will provide students with the physical principle of different medical instruments as (EEG, MEG, ECG, sphygmomanometer, US, glasses and lenses, PET, x-ray device, etc.), in addition to basic principle of radiotherapy.
