Course Description

The Optometric Practice Management provides in depth training in business, marketing and management
skills relevant to the practice of optometry. Particularly in Marketplace review; Understanding financial
management; Identifying potential target markets; Evaluating markets; Reviewing existing product mix;
Optimizing product/service mix for target markets; Business set-up; Retail sales; Product development;
Marketing; Systems and procedures and human resources.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the students should be familiar with the basic principles of business
administration and law that are essential for the practice of optometry and assists students in developing a
practice plan for their entry into the profession.
